Design Process

Collaborated with director and writer to create costume, set, prop and lighting elements of Woven, a show about seven women’s experiences with Jesus surrounding Easter. We determined an overall theme was that their lives had been woven together throughout the play. The director and I agreed to a design that would involve three different fabric panels moving across the stage in different ways to create different locations throughout the play, working with backstage crew to move them in each of the nine scene changes. Worked closely with director and technical director to determine lighting looks that would help create the scene. Worked with Curtis Smith to determine design and fabrication of first century inspired props. Sourced, altered and fit costumes with an emphasis on hand-work (loosely woven fabrics, embroidery, etc) in the women’s costumes.
