Design Process

Researched an 1890s look for the Darling family, and agreed on a more magical, less victorian, look for Peter Pan and Lost boys throughout design discussions with Director. Established a colour palette for each of the different groups, partially determined by the set palette and what was available in stock costumes (Pirates in sea-blues and earthy browns, Natives in doeskin and earthy tones, Darlings in suppressed navy tones). Involved a handful of volunteer stitchers to build and alter costume pieces including Mr. Darling, Captain Hook, Pirate vests, and Native pants. As well as personally building and sourcing Darling children costumes, costume breakdown, headpieces (Pirates and Natives), altering and fitting costumes. Nana costume was built by Curtis Smith of Little Lion Workshop
