Design Process

A world premiere production by the Outpatient Collective based on the legend of Atlantis. Designed, sourced, built and altered costumes for a cast of 25 student actors set in 1930s and a futuristic Atlantis. Designed, and assisted in assembling the set from old scenery used in other productions. Leftover coroplast was used to trim the set. I lead a team of eight in scenic painting the set in a light-grey to effectively light it with a gobo rotator to ‘sink the island’ of Atlantis at the end of the play. Throughout the play, black light paint was also highlighted on the set for specific scenes involving the ‘killing machine’ sirens, who also had black light paint on their costumes and in their makeup.
